In my thirteenth year at BMS, the return to education has been most rewarding. Teaching Earth Science on Cape Cod is so exciting and relevant as we try to make the science come alive for our kids. The land and sea breezes, the current in the canal, the tides, the lack of  ‘snow days’, the weather reports that say ‘cooler on the Cape and Islands!’, the summer traffic – all of these are related to the earth sciences around us.

We study Mapping the Earth, Geology, Astronomy, Climate and Climate Change – all sciences that help to explain the world around us.

 

I am an avid outdoor enthusiast, love to ski, snowboard, hike, camp, sail and just being in nature.  On vacations I like to visit the US National Parks, and have made many trips over the last few years.  I take a lot of photos and share them with the class as we explore the geology of the US and get motivated for our National Parks project.  Working on visiting them all – up to 28!
